Referral:

• A referral from your local doctor is required at the time of booking your appointment with Mr D'Urso.
• Emergency referrals must be made by direct communication from the treating Doctor to Mr D'Urso personally by telephone.
• Sub-acute referrals may be made by direct communication from the treating Doctor to Mr D'Urso personally by telephone, fax or email.
• Standard referrals will be initiated by the Doctor or the patient via telephone, fax or email.
• Patients will not be seen unless a referral is provided by one of the above mechanisms.
• Patients will not be entitled to insurance or Medicare rebates unless written referral is provided to Mr D'Urso by the time of consultation.

Previous X-rays and Current Medications:
Please bring any relevant scans or xrays that you may have already had done, if they relate to your appointment with Mr D'Urso. It is also important to bring a list of any medications that you are currently taking.

Urgent Referrals:
If your required appointment is considered urgent by your referring doctor, a referral is welcome to be faxed through to the office of his Epworth rooms on 03 9421 4186. The referral will be forwarded to Mr D'Urso for consideration of urgency of appointment.

Emergencies:
If you have an emergency after normal office hours, you are advised to attend the nearest hospital emergency room where you will be evaluated by the emergency room physician. They will then be able to contact Mr D'Urso as necessary.
